This is a Volunteer role with Saxongate, Huntingdon, Papworth Trust.
Papworth Trust is a leading disability charity. Our mission is to support disabled people to have equality, choice and independence in their lives.
We are looking for volunteers who would enjoy supporting disabled people to learn a range of skills from performing arts and independent living skills to core literacy and numeracy skills. Each session is two and a half hours long, (weekday mornings 9.30-12.00, afternoons 12.30-16.00 and an evening session 17.00-19.30 Tuesday. Minimum commitment 2.5hrs per week).
It is essential to the learners that you and other project workers commit to one or more sessions for at least a 12 week block. This continued familiar support for learners will build confidence and enable them to learn and develop in a stimulating environment.
Previous experience working or volunteering with disabled people is desirable but not essential. Agreed expenses will be reimbursed and any necessary training will be provided.
